IELTS Speaking Parameters (for 8 Bands)

 The Speaking Module is the 4th part of the exam. This page will talk about the parameters of speaking which are necessary to score a good band score in IELTS.
1.) Fluency and Coherence: The person who scores more than 7.5 bands in speaking: 
~speaks fluently with only occasional repetition or self-correction. 
~hesitation is usually content-related. 
~describes the information in sequence with confidence. 
~ develops topics coherently and appropriately. 
2.) Lexical resource: 
~ uses a wide vocabulary resource readily and flexibly to convey precise meanings
~ uses less common words
~ uses more idiomatic vocabulary skilfully, with occasional inaccuracies.
~ uses unique strategies ( linkers ) to convey his ideas and views.
3.) Grammatical range and accuracy: 
~ uses a wide range of structures flexibly.
~ produces a majority of error-free sentences with only occasional or basic errors. 
~ uses correct grammar with different types of tenses. 
4.) Pronunciation: 
~ uses a wide range of pronunciation features.
~ uses a natural accent and is easy to understand throughout. 
~ does not try to speak like a foreign speaker.
